Meet the Staff

Cristine Sant'Anna
Olympian/Head Coach
Cristine Sant’Anna is a Brazilian native and has played volleyball since she was 13 years old. She played professionally in Brazil for Pinheiros before moving to the US and playing 3 years at Louisiana Tech University. She was named Second Team All-Louisiana in 2002, First Team All-Louisiana in 2003 and Second Team All-WAC in 2003. She Recorded 439 kills in '03 (5th all-time) for a 4.18 kills per game average (2nd all-time)Totaled 1,434 career kills (4th all-time) for a 3.46 kills per game average (2nd all-time). She also had 56 service aces in 2002 which is the most in Tech history for a single season!! After she was finished with her indoor career she moved back to Brazil and started to play beach volleyball in 2004 on the Brazilian Professional Circuit. She quickly learned the game and developed the skills and the wins necessary to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympics for Georgia in Beach Volleyball 🇬🇪 Sant’Anna and her partner Martins' most notable win came when they defeated a Russian opponent in the Beijing Olympics just days after a war between Georgia and Russia started. She still competes on the Brazilian Professional Circuit along with PBU Athlete Melissa Powell.

Melissa Powell
CEO/Founder & Women's Developmental Team Coach
Melissa has played and trained with some of the best players and coaches in the world! Some of those include training with the 5 time Olympian Kerri Walsh Jennings, Pepperdine Head Coach & Kerri & April’s 2016 Olympic coach Marcio Siccoli, Tri Bourne & Sarah Hughes and Former Belgium Olympic Coach Leandro Pinheiro, Olympic Latvian Coach & superstar coach Pompilho Mercadante, Georgian Olympian Cristine Santanna, World Champion & 5th ranked team in the world in 2008 Harley Silva, and many many more experienced players and coaches. Melissa has qualified and played on the Brazilian Professional Tour this past season & regularly plays against some of the best players in the world including Agatha & Duda.
On the world tour, representing Team USA, Melissa has played against numerous Olympians and high level professionals from all over the world finishing as high as 5th place on the Professional World Tour. She is currently ranked at number 46 in the National USA Ranking system among over 3,000 registered beach volleyball players
Melissa has numerous women’s open top 3 finishes including a 3rd place finish at an AVP Next Gold Series event in early 2020 and her AAA rating from California. Along with the extensive knowledge she has gained working and training against the best in the world, Melissa played beach volleyball for 3 Years at the Division 1 level for Houston Baptist University and the University of Utah where she competed on the PAC 12 against arguably the best collegiate beach volleyball teams including USC, UCLA, Arizona, and more. Melissa has over 8 years of coaching experience.

Phillip Fuchs
PBU Co-Founder
Phil played for top-ranked BYU where he played as an Outside Hitter. He received the Elite 89 Award in 2014 for being the student athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 90 men’s and women’s championships across its 3 divisions (D1, D2, D3).
After his career at BYU was ended he graduated with a degree in Business Strategy. He then joined the Brazilian Superliga A professional League overseas where he played with and against some of the best players in the world! After his return to the US, Phil got his MBA from the University of Utah along with his Masters of Science in Information Systems. He is currently on the NVA professional Team Stingers roster, a business intelligence engineer for MX Technologies, and a father of 2.

Kolton Rader
Interim Pro Coach & Assistant PBU Coach
Kolton has coached 9 years of indoor volleyball at Salem Hills High School, Lehi High School, Elevate VBC, Club 801 and Uvu Men's and Women's Club Volleyball. He has also coaches 2 seasons of sand volleyball with Aces Athletics and Wasatch Beach. He played 4 years as a libero at UVU and has 7+ years playing Open level sand volleyball in Utah.

Bert Lund
Physical Therapist
Dr. Robert W. Lund (Bert) graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Diego, California with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2015. Bert completed his Manual Therapy Certification through University of St Augustine in 2016 and Certification in Dry Needling through the Spinal Manipulation and Dry Needling Institute in 2021. He has a passion for sports physical therapy, manual therapy and vestibular rehabilitation. He enjoys helping patients and players recover and reach their goals to maximize performance and improve their quality of life. Bert loves the outdoors and spends his free time running trail ultramarathons, mountain biking, skiing and dirt biking. Bert currently is the Clinical Director at FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers in Midvale, Utah.

Cassidy Burrows
Director of Operations
Cassidy Received her finance degree from Brigham Young University and is currently employed as the Head of Technical Support at a software company in Salt Lake City that supports financial institutions. Cassidy helps plan events, tournaments, and manage all internal operations within PBU.

Kristina Baldwin
Executive Assistant & Pro Team Manager
Kristina received her business degree from University of Maryland Asia and is currently employed as an Area Manager for a third party management company in Salt Lake City. She also works as a Sourcing Specialist for Paragon Fitwear. Kristina manages our pro teams and helps with all internal operations within PBU.
